Superintendent Montgomery reviews 2025–26 wins: growth targets, AAA rating and construction plans

Montgomery highlighted improvements in academic growth metrics and raw assessment data; he said preliminary raw IAR data show an increase in the district’s ELA raw data to 85.7 and that 82.6% of students met growth targets for the year. “We celebrated a 178 graduates, and it was a fantastic evening, for the community,” Montgomery said when describing commencement activities.
On finance, Montgomery said cost-saving measures are expected to increase the district’s fund balance by roughly $1,000,000 over the five-year forecast, moving the district further above its board policy target and supporting long-term projects. He also noted continued AAA credit recognition and described three major summer construction activities (DPM cafeteria Phase C with sprinkler upgrades and new entrances; roofing and HVAC work districtwide) with Dan Mortensen supervising crews.
Montgomery summarized district priorities—academic excellence, climate and culture, and financial/resource management—and described steps for continued work on Kagan training, SEL choices, student voice, and tri-district high-school readiness partnerships. He closed by inviting the community to summer events and encouraging stakeholders to review fall assessment reports on the district website.
