Board approves multiple teacher hires ahead of school year

The board approved a slate of new hires recommended administratively for the upcoming school year. Positions approved included Samantha Bricker Barr (elementary teacher), Hannah Patel Antel (6th-grade math), Emma Bedner (5th-grade ELA/social studies), Kayla Finau (elementary art teacher), Chase Dawley (7th-grade social studies), and Janelle Belitsky (elementary special-education teacher). Each hire was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
During the approvals the Chair called for voice votes and stated the outcome after assent: "She is hired." The superintendent noted the district still has a preschool position and a bus driver vacancy but reported a strong pool of candidates for several openings.
