The Hampton City Council voted to go into a closed session to discuss appointments listed on the meeting agenda.
The clerk read the motion: "The motion required today is to convene a closed session pursuant to Virginia code section 2.2 dash 3,711 1.1 to discuss appointments as listed on the agenda." A motion and second were recorded and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote in which all members present voted "Aye." The council said it would meet in the Lawson Conference Room at 1:45 and reconvene afterward to certify the closed session and adjourn.
Those recorded voting "Aye" during the motion were Councilman Bowman; Vice Mayor Brown; Councilwoman Campbell; Councilwoman Farrabee; Councilwoman Harper; Councilwoman Mugler; and Mayor Gray.
