During the budget meeting commissioners approved several non-budget line authorizations and directed staff on contractual matters. The commission authorized installation of 250th Anniversary banners, approved a $10,000 increase for the Humane Shelter and agreed to allocate $36,000 from the Hotel/Motel fund to support the Chamber of Commerce, a request brought forward by Commissioner Terry Carter.
Commissioners also directed Attorney Jay Doss to forward contracts to the Chamber of Commerce and to the Historical Society and discussed digitizing city records as an administrative improvement. These were recorded as authorizations at the close of the presentation portion of the meeting.
