Board recognizes three students for Eagle Scout achievements

The Brookhaven‑Comsewogue Union Free School District board opened its August meeting by recognizing three students — Juliana, Gavin and Andrew — who earned the rank of Eagle Scout and completed community projects the district said improved local facilities. "To become an Eagle Scout is a very long and hard journey," the presiding officer said while presenting certificates.
The chair described students' projects: crocheted dolls donated to the Stony Brook University children's hospital, ADA‑compliant flower beds at the library, and a butterfly garden with houses at the Comsewogue library. The chair additionally noted Juliana earned the Girl Scouts' Gold Award in Suffolk County. The recognitions were acknowledged without opposition and the board moved on to routine business.
