Buda staff announces new commissioner appointment and fall community events
Summary
Staff told commissioners a new commissioner, Bridal Hockman, was appointed by council and will join after being sworn in; staff also listed upcoming community events including Texas APA registration, National Night Out (Oct. 1), restaurant week (Oct. 13–20), library programs, Halloween festivities, and a Veterans Day parade.
In the Development Services Director’s report the commission learned that a new commissioner, Bridal Hockman, was appointed at the council meeting on Sept. 17 and will join the Planning & Zoning Commission after being sworn in.
Staff also announced a range of community events and administrative items: FY25 budget funds were approved to register commissioners for the Texas APA meeting (Oct. 16–18 in Allen, Texas) if they let staff know by the 27th; National Night Out is scheduled for Oct. 1; restaurant week runs Oct. 13–20; library programs including a vision board meeting Sept. 28 and performances later in the month; a Buda Halloween celebration is set for Oct. 26; and a Veterans Day parade and ceremony is planned for Nov. 9. Staff invited commissioners to contact the office for details or to register for events.
