Development Services director outlines upcoming bond projects, Main Street interim work and trails

City staff said a Tally Loop resurfacing contract was awarded Sept. 17 and that Main Street interim improvements will be bid in early October; trail projects and the All Black Colony traffic signal are moving toward construction as part of the city's CIP and bond program.
At the Sept. 24 Planning & Zoning meeting the Development Services Director updated commissioners on capital improvement projects and bond‑funded work.
The director reported the Tally Loop resurfacing contract was awarded on Sept. 17 and described it as one of the first bond projects that will be visible in the field. Main Street will see an interim scope — adding a right‑turn lane and reconfiguring approaches — with plans expected to go to bid in early October so work can begin sooner than a full reconstruction. "Those plans have been buttoned up, and we plan on taking those out to bid in early October," the director said.
Staff also said the county is designing a traffic signal at the Firecracker/Main Street area, and the Onion Creek and Garlic Creek trail construction plans were signed and slated to go to bid in October. The All Black Colony traffic signal plans are at 100% and under tech review and will be put out to bid after finalization. The director encouraged commissioners to contact staff with questions and offered to share TxDOT materials about roadway turnback planning.
