Council OKs road closures for Oct. 25 Burton Trick-or-Treat Trail

The City Council adopted Resolution 20250812R on Aug. 12 authorizing temporary closures of city and state roads, including parts of Spur 125 and FM 390, for the annual Trick-or-Treat Trail planned for Oct. 25, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The City Secretary noted this is a routine yearly item that includes placement of signs, barricades and Citizens on Patrol or law enforcement at detour points to assist pedestrian safety.
The resolution packet specifies that closures will be less than four hours and identifies detour points and sign locations in an attached Exhibit A. Councilmember Macey Tidwell moved for approval and Councilmember Paul McLaughlin seconded; the motion passed with no recorded opposition. The council’s action allows staff to finalize logistics and public notifications ahead of the event.
