District expands Read 180 intervention for students below grade level; estimated 250 students enrolled

Curriculum lead Kyle explained Read 180 operates in two tiers: a full model with teacher-led small groups and a flex model that primarily uses a student app with teacher monitoring. "Read 180 is a reading intervention program," he said, noting it is used where students need intensive support and that teacher monitoring is required. Kyle estimated "250" students are currently participating across grades 4–12. The district also reported vendor-provided virtual coaching for teachers and that some students may use the program over the summer, with Chromebook checkouts offered where needed.
Staff said Read 180 has shown positive engagement and that the district has worked to increase high-school participation by adjusting schedules to allow access to the program.
