A representative from Barton Mallow told the board the scope includes demolition of the existing press box and bleacher system, site clearing, new concrete footings and foundations for the bleachers, and replacement of sidewalk sections adjacent to the bleachers and toward the baseball field. "Bart Mallow has reviewed the proposal with the project architect, French Associates, prepared to recommend to the owner the following actions, which would be bid category, of site work going to Team Elmer's for 534,696," the presenter said.
Board members discussed logistics and timing; Barton Mallow and district staff said major work is expected to begin in late May, with much of the heavy construction scheduled while school is out to limit disruption to students and spring athletics. The motion to award the contract was moved by Mary, supported by Sarah, and the board approved it by voice/hand vote.
What happens next: the district will coordinate contractor plans for temporary protections, finalize demolition logistics, and confirm the schedule so work can proceed with safety measures in place.
