Mayor, council commend departments for storm response and promote July 11 250th celebration

Mayor Stanzilis and members of the Borough Council used the July 7 meeting to thank first responders, DPW crews, CERT volunteers and borough staff for their response to a recent storm and power outage. The mayor said he communicated with JCP&L, the Board of Public Utilities and the Governor's office during restoration efforts and thanked residents for patience.
Councilmembers likewise expressed appreciation: Councilwoman Fostle and others described community events (MAPS graduation, community garden opening) and encouraged residents to attend the borough's America's 250th celebration on July 11. The remarks also noted mutual aid during the Veteran's Cruise and a feature in the Lake Hopatcong News recognizing a resident who helps organize the Memorial Day parade.
