The board moved through routine and action agenda items after the budget preview. On a motion by Steve (speaker 6) and second by Cindy (speaker 4), the board approved renewal of property/liability/boiler/machinery and errors-and-omissions insurance with Alicap for the 2026–27 policy year. Superintendent Wilson said the estimated premium will be $551,142, up from $533,278 last year, and that the payment will be made in September.
The board also authorized the sale or disposal of miscellaneous activities department items (track mats, high-jump and pole-vault pits, weight-room equipment) after a motion by Tom (speaker 2) and second by Patty (speaker 3). Wilson said some items will be auctioned and others offered to area schools.
Finally, the board adopted a revised superintendent-evaluation tool developed by the evaluation committee (motion by Tom, second by Steve). The approved instrument will be submitted to the Nebraska Association of School Boards and the Nebraska Department of Education for their review; the board recorded votes on the action items with results reported in the meeting.
