DPW budget trimmed; mechanic moves to part-time and snow-equipment requests supported

Mayor DiSalvo reviewed the Department of Public Works requested budget for FY26-27, saying the mechanic’s salary was reduced from full-time to part-time and that contractual line items dropped slightly from FY25-26. "DPW Supervisor Dave Hurst has an emergency and is not available," DiSalvo said, noting the board could follow up with Hurst later.
On equipment, DiSalvo said street maintenance "front end loaders can be financed" and described a requested commercial-grade snow blower; the board "supports the amount requested" for snow removal items. Trustees did not adopt any final equipment financing decisions at the workshop; those options remain under consideration as the tentative budget is finalized.
