During a review of the Department of Public Works requested budget, Mayor DiSalvo said the mechanic’s salary was reduced from full-time to part-time in the FY26-27 request. He reviewed street administration and said there were limited salary changes and no major equipment cuts beyond financing considerations for larger items.
The board discussed equipment needs; Mayor DiSalvo noted front-end loaders could be financed. The DPW has requested a commercial-grade snow blower for snow removal; the board said it supported the amount requested for that item while reserving judgment on some other snow-related expenditures. CHIPS funding was outlined as part of the discussion of state aid for street work.
