Two sheriff candidates spoke during public comment; resident presses council on 25-foot pole and 2700 East median

During the public-comment portion of the meeting, Jon Atkin introduced himself as a candidate for Davis County Sheriff and described service at city, county and state levels and current work as a National Guard Military Intelligence Officer. He said his campaign priorities include protecting children, combating crime and cybercrime, and building strong relationships across the county.
A South Weber resident, Amy Mitchell, asked the council to respond to an email she said she sent about a 25-foot pole in her front yard and said she could not locate staff email addresses on the city website; she also urged the council to "ensure 2700 East is done right the first time." Andy Oblad, also present and speaking, announced his candidacy for Davis County Sheriff, said he has 28 years in law enforcement and noted an endorsement from Sheriff Sparks. The council did not respond during public comment but closed the period and proceeded to the agenda.
