Council approves amended Planned Development for Pit Stop after executive-session briefing

The council recessed into executive session under Texas Government Code sections 551.071, 551.072 and 551.087 to discuss attorney consultation, real property and economic development information related to the Pit Stop Planned Development. After reconvening City Manager Matt McMahan asked the Pit Stop property manager, Ram Yennam, if he wished to speak. Yennam said that "when they purchased the land, they had big plans for the project" and explained that partnership and financing problems after changes to the I-30 project had slowed progress. Mayor Pro Tem John Verity moved to approve the amended Planned Development ordinance for the Pit Stop and Council Member Cody Hawkins seconded; the council voted unanimously to approve the amendment, which corrected Phase 1 lot counts (148 to 150), added 120 Phase 2 RV lots and moved some commercial and event-area uses to Phase 2.
