Caddo Mills Council adopts FY 2024–25 budget, funds fire department raises

The Caddo Mills City Council adopted its FY 2024–25 operating budget after a brief public hearing in which no members of the public spoke. City Manager Matt McMahan told the council that "we were able to up the payment for the fire department and the team members would be happy with their raises." Mayor Pro Tem John Verity made the motion to adopt the budget and Council Member Justin Poppelreiter seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The council also approved the Economic Development Corporation's FY 2024–25 operating budget after a presentation from EDC consultant John Hubbard, who said the EDC budget "was almost the same as last year" and included a reimbursement fund for services the city provides. The council voted unanimously to approve the EDC budget. The city recorded no public opposition during the hearings and gave staff direction to proceed with implementation under the adopted budget.
