Voters approved Article 11 to move the 2024 General Fund surplus of $161,454.50 into the Tax Stabilization Fund. Town Manager Jackie Higgins told voters the stabilization fund held roughly $62,000 prior to that transfer.
Immediately after that transfer, voters approved Article 12 to appropriate $100,000 from the Tax Stabilization Fund to reduce 2025–2026 taxes. Jackie Higgins explained that if the prior transfer had not passed, the appropriation would have needed to be amended; because the surplus rolls into the stabilization fund after the audit, the appropriation proceeded as presented.
