The board approved a motion authorizing Shellquist to place a driveway in the township right-of-way to connect three properties to a new road. "Motion made by Helman to authorize Shellquist to place driveway in ROW to connect 3 properties to new road, second by Christensen, carried 3-0," the minutes state. The authorization was recorded as carried unanimously.
Chairman Mike Helman also noted that vacating the road and right-of-way will require a petition from eight residents and a public hearing before the board can act on a permanent vacation. Supervisor Andy Christensen reported he had met with Monticello Fire and city representatives and said there is a $689 deduction from the 2025 budget line; the minutes note two years remain on the current fire contract. The board did not take additional action on the vacation at the meeting; next steps depend on receipt of the resident petition and scheduling a public hearing.
