Caddo Mills approves MOUs with child advocacy center and Hunt County radio system

Council authorized a memorandum of understanding with the Crisis Center of Northeast Texas to continue joint child-advocacy work and approved an MOU to use Hunt County's Safety Nexus radio system while the county completes a radio upgrade; both passed unanimously.
The Caddo Mills City Council on Feb. 11 approved two memoranda of understanding related to public safety.
Police Chief Kimbre Collier described the first MOU as an agreement with the Child Advocacy Center that "allows them to continue to seek grants" and provides for monthly meetings to coordinate cases involving child crimes. The council approved that MOU unanimously.
Collier also briefed the council on a separate MOU with Hunt County to allow the Caddo Mills Police Department to use the Hunt County Safety Nexus (HCSN) radio system while Hunt County transitions to a new radio platform. The county's cutover had been delayed from Jan. 1 to mid-March and could be pushed back again; Collier said the MOU must be in place for the department to access the system. Council authorized the radio MOU unanimously.
Both items were presented by the police chief and moved and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem John Verity and Council Member Justin Poppelreiter, respectively.
