City Manager Matt McMahan described the Oncor Steering Committee item as routine: "this was something that we had to do every year," and the council approved payment of eleven cents per capita to the Oncor Steering Committee to fund regulatory and legal proceedings. Council also authorized paying five cents per capita to the Atmos Cities Steering Committee for regulatory matters related to Atmos Energy Corporation. Both resolutions passed by unanimous vote.
Council did not debate the mechanics or amounts beyond the motion; staff characterized these as annual, budgeted participations. The payments authorize the city to continue joint legal and regulatory representation on matters affecting electric and gas utilities in the region.
