Mayor Mote opened a public hearing on the measure, saying the purpose was to compile, organize and codify the city’s ordinances. City Manager Kimpton told the council that "this would make the online code the official version, with all numbers matching." The council voted to open and then close the hearing; there were no public comments.
Council Member Braegger moved to adopt the ordinance, and Council Member Jacob Bodily seconded. A roll-call vote was recorded with Council Member Bodily, Council Member Braegger and Council Member Hulsey voting yes; the motion carried.
The codification is intended to make future updates easier and provide an accessible reference for residents, city officials and employees. City staff did not provide an implementation timeline at the meeting.
