Council authorizes city manager to finalize airport-area right-of-way expansion

The council voted unanimously to allow the city manager and city attorney to complete a right-of-way dedication expanding portions of CR 2626 and CR 2617 adjacent to city-owned airport property to approximately 35 feet after waiting on TxDOT and FAA input.
The Caddo Mills City Council on Jan. 14 unanimously authorized the City Manager and city legal counsel to finalize a right-of-way dedication expanding portions of County Roads 2626 and 2617 adjacent to city-owned airport property to a total width of about 35 feet. City Manager Matt McMahan told council the city had been waiting on guidance from TxDOT and the Federal Aviation Administration to ensure the dedication was completed correctly and asked for authority to finish the transaction without returning to council.
Mayor Pro Tem John Verity moved to grant that authority; the motion was seconded by Council Member Justin Poppelreiter and approved by the full council. The action was taken as item 6a after the council pulled the matter from the consent agenda for separate consideration. The council’s vote was recorded as unanimous.
