The Canyon ISD Board of Trustees accepted multiple donations and approved employment of a list of personnel for the 2024–25 school year during its Aug. 15 meeting.
Mrs. Laurie Gilliland moved to accept donations "with gratitude in accordance with board policy," and trustees approved gifts that included $6,000 from First United Bank to sponsor athletic departmental media lunches; $4,000 from Veritas Legacy Wealth for CISD hats; $2,610 from Hodges & Hodges Orthodontics for WPHS Wolf Camp shirts; and additional cash and in-kind contributions to support athletics, camps and student programs. The motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved a slate of new hires — including teachers and support staff named in the minutes — to be employed for the 2024–25 school year under the local salary schedule and subject to assignment by the superintendent. Both motions were adopted unanimously.
