Cameron planning commission recommends variance for carport at 1605 North Cleveland Avenue

At its Sept. 24 meeting the Cameron Planning and Zoning Commission voted 2–1 to recommend approval of a special-use permit and a 10-foot front-yard variance to allow an attached carport at 1605 North Cleveland Avenue; the applicant’s representative said the carport "will be shingled and match the house."
Chair Kyle Nuttall called the Planning and Zoning Commission to order on Sept. 24 and opened a public hearing at 12:02 p.m. on a special-use permit and 10-foot front-yard variance to allow an attached carport at 1605 North Cleveland Avenue. Code Enforcement Officer Ricky McCall told the commission "this item was discussed at the last meeting; however, there was confusion on what was actually being requested." Jason Dohnalik of EBCO presented a sketch and said, "The carport will be shingled and match the house."
Commissioner Galdino Banda moved to recommend approval of the special-use permit; Commissioner Lindsey Culpepper seconded. The motion carried with Chair Kyle Nuttall opposing (tally: 2 yes, 1 no). The minutes record no public opposition during the hearing. The recommendation was recorded by the commission on Sept. 24, 2024.
