Calvert council adopts policy to automatically accept routine monthly payables under mayor's $5,000 limit

On Oct. 28 the Calvert City Council approved a policy change to automatically pay recurring monthly accounts that are usual and customary and fall within the mayor's $5,000 approval limit. Council Member Wiese moved for the change and Council Member Walston seconded; the motion passed with all members present voting in favor.
The agenda language will be amended to read 'accept the monthly expenses as presented.' The council discussed the administrative convenience of automatic payment for routine obligations; no dollar total of recurring payables was provided in the minutes.
