Ashley noted procedures for scoring inconsistencies: if a pair of reviewers’ scores differ substantially, a third reviewer can be assigned to re‑grade to correct typing or entry errors and to reduce the impact of outlier scores. “We have a committee of 10 plus people that review each application 2 times…When we see a discrepancy, we will have 0.333 person review because sometimes that might just be an error in typing,” she said, describing the office’s process for ensuring fairness.
