Local business owners ask Caddo Mills to tighten food-truck permitting

Two downtown restaurant owners told the City Council that numerous weekend food trucks enter Caddo Mills without visible health permits or local ties and urged clearer permitting and enforcement.
At the start of the Aug. 13 Caddo Mills City Council meeting, small-business owners raised concerns about food-truck activity in town.
Ruth Meraz, owner of Si Senor, asked what permits are required for food trucks. Owner Misty Clary of Fox Nutrition said many trucks arrive Fridays and Saturdays and “no one knows who they are or where they came from,” and she said most did not display health permits. Both asked the council to review enforcement and permitting so that the city and downtown businesses benefit from mobile vendors.
Mayor Chris Davies and staff did not record any formal direction or action in the minutes; the exchange occurred during the public-comments portion of the meeting.
