Board members discussed a long-running issue in which a property owner had previously agreed to a 50-foot turnaround easement but had not signed the deed despite multiple revisions. Jackie told the board she had deed and tax paperwork ready and, absent a timely response from the property owner, would request a final site visit and a hearing to reclassify the road.
A select board member moved to reclassify the road as Class 4 and to start the process; the motion was seconded and the board agreed to schedule a site visit and hearing in May, with letters to affected parties to be mailed. The board discussed the presence of a nearby dry hydrant and fire access while members urged due process and 30-day notice for hearings.
"I make a motion to, reclassify that road as class 4," a select board member said when moving the measure. The board agreed to a site visit and set the hearing date for the next select board meeting in May.
