Canyon Economic Development Director Michael Kitten presented Resolution No. 13‑2026 at the April 21 meeting as the first of two required readings. The resolution would approve a project funding agreement between the Canyon Chamber of Commerce and the Canyon Economic Development Corporation to provide direct financial assistance for the annual Independence Day fireworks display.
Kitten said the Canyon Economic Development Corporation approved the project funding request on March 24, 2026 and that the funding request totals $15,000. He noted a public hearing on April 16 produced no opposition. No action was taken at first reading; the second reading and final vote are scheduled for the May 5, 2026 commission meeting.
