The City Commission on May 5 approved Resolution No. 13-2026, authorizing a $15,000 project funding agreement from the Canyon Economic Development Corporation to the Canyon Chamber of Commerce for the annual Independence Day fireworks display. Canyon Economic Development Director Michael Kitten presented the agreement and said a public hearing on the project was held April 16 with no opposition.
"Mr. Kitten said the total funding request would be $15,000." After brief discussion, Mayor Pro-Tem Cody Jones moved and Commissioner Robyn Cranmer seconded approval on second and final reading; the motion carried unanimously. The resolution directs the economic development corporation to execute the agreement supporting the fireworks display this year.
