Buna ISD board calls Nov. 5 election, names candidates and election officials

The Buna Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Aug. 12 to call a Nov. 5, 2024 Board of Trustee election for four at-large, four-year seats. Trustee Joey Broom moved the Notice and Order, which names Jimmy Branch, Ryan Beaver, Joey Broom and Karli Cherry on the order; the motion passed unanimously 7-0.
The board also approved election logistics at the same meeting. The board approved Vernon Eastepp as Early Voting Judge and Election Day Judge and named deputy early-voting clerks Penny Martin, Martha Bullard and Daniel Whitton. Callie McWhirter was designated alternate judge for Election Day and a slate of clerks (Martha Bullard, Daniel Whitton, Lacey Cruz, Luouida Newbold and Jana Austin) was approved. Trustee Joey Broom made the motion to approve the election details, which passed 7-0.
