Council told staff will keep Old Hampton Community Center open for FY2010; pool to close

Budget staff told the council they were recommending that the Old Hampton Community Center remain open for fiscal year 2010 and that the community pool would close and pool functions be moved to the teen center. To keep the center operating, staff said they added approximately $287,000 to the budget.
"We will be closing the pool, and the pool function will be moving over to the teen center," presenter Chris Snead said, adding that the change required an incremental $287,000. Councilmembers asked that the manager's recommended budget include full details on costs and any service impacts; staff said the April 15 recommendation will include more specific figures.
