The Hampton City Council approved a resolution authorizing a license agreement with TRE Properties LLC to install an exclusive underground conduit and fiber optic cable within the West Queensway public right-of-way. Councilman Carney moved for approval during the public hearing; no members of the public signed up to speak and the council voted in favor.
City staff said Metro Productions requested the conduit and cable to support data transmission for businesses at 48 and 27 West Queensway. "Metro productions has requested a license agreement be approved for installation of the underground conduit you just referred to and fiber optic cable for data transmission for their businesses located at 48 West Queensway and 27 West Queensway," staff said. The clerk recorded the affirmative votes and the motion carried; the resolution will allow the company to proceed under the terms of the license agreement.
