Local buyer asks Lorenzo for 30–45 day pause on demolition at 508 Harrison to complete purchase

Dakota Kiser told the Lorenzo City Council during public comment that buildings near his business had collapsed and asked the city in writing not to act on the demolition order for 30 to 45 days so he could complete a private purchase option and handle demolition more cheaply.
"I would like in writing that you are not going to act on the demolition order just my option period, so I am not asking for a year I am asking for thirty or forty-five days," Kiser said during the Aug. 18 special meeting. He also asked the city to open a location where citizens could deposit large piles of rubble and said he already has lots under contract filed at the abstract for properties he described (two lots he named in comment).
Mayor Lori Landin acknowledged Kiser and the minutes note Kiser’s statement that the purchase contracts were already filed at the abstract. The minutes do not record a formal council directive granting the pause; the council later voted to stand by its July 14 decision and to restart the process with R&J Dirtwork.
