County staff outline zoning regulation rewrite, public outreach and fall hearing timetable

Sean Pendley of planning staff said the zoning‑regulation update is broken into three modules and that the county is in late stages of module 2 (development standards and subdivision design).
"We're currently ... getting about 0.667 of the way through that review," Pendley said, and he outlined upcoming outreach: community engagement on August 18 (New Century Field House) and August 20 (Stillwell United Methodist), a preliminary module‑2 review at the commission's Aug. 25 meeting with the consultant Clarion joining by Zoom, and anticipated public hearings in October/November with adoption aimed by the end of the year.
Staff emphasized stakeholder meetings with farmers, developers, public‑works and water districts and said module 3 (administration and procedures) draft had just been received. The commission was told to expect an intensive review period from August through December as staff and consultants refine draft regulations and prepare public‑hearing materials.
