The council authorized staff to contract for up to $17,000 with STP Services to purchase and install two 17-horsepower pumps at Lift Station No. 1. Staff said existing pumps are undersized and that increased flow — and an ongoing wastewater treatment plant expansion — make the new pumps necessary to maintain proper conveyance toward the plant’s headworks.
A staff representative noted that the new pumps will provide the pressure and flow needed to move wastewater to the headworks; the council moved and approved the contract authorization during the meeting. City staff indicated the new pumps are for an older station in advance of the new system coming online.
