Finance director reports higher court deposits for July–September after hurricane

Eunice Jackson, the city's finance director, presented the financial report for July through September 2024 and told the council that court deposit totals rose in August and September following hurricane-driven activity. "The deposit that was actually collected from the court was 81,000. But in, August, it was 98,000. And in September, it went up to 95,000," she said.
Jackson explained that expenses in July remained despite the hurricane and that some spending and deposits were deferred or caught up in subsequent months. Council took no separate appropriation action during the presentation; the financial report item had been tabled previously and was presented for ratification and review.
