Council OKs $10,000 contract for Texas Municipal League financial boot camp

City Administrator Dr. Annette Goldberg asked the council to approve contracting with the Texas Municipal League (TML) for a five-day financial 'boot camp' to review policies, procedures and the city’s books. "They actually spend 5 days, 5 working days, all day long, and they see our books," Goldberg said, describing TML’s planned in-person review and recommendations.
Goldberg said the city will invite council members to attend the sessions; the council approved using $10,000 from the general fund to pay for the TML services and a special meeting will be scheduled for the follow-up report. Clerk recorded the motion and vote in favor.
