NTDSE reports capacity strain; district representative notes added students and space needs

The Board heard the NTDSE report that the cooperative added 13 students in November and relocated six staff to accommodate increased needs. As a result, offices were repurposed into classrooms and Molloy is reported as over capacity for K–2, with a K–2 classroom of nine students where the ideal is fewer than half that number. NTDSE leadership said it is actively seeking additional space and already has a teacher identified if space becomes available.
Other NTDSE highlights included a mobile DMV project that brought DMV services to Molloy to help students obtain IDs and partnerships with Luries that supported hearing screenings. The minutes also note NTDSE's difficulty filling a teacher position for the visually impaired.
