The commission denied the petition for review in the matter of Tammy Hyatt (case no. 2025-00812) after hearing staff and petitioner remarks and holding a closed session. A written order in the matter will be issued shortly.
Petitioner Tammy Hyatt told the commission she takes responsibility for reporting errors from January 2024 through March 2025 but said the errors were not intentional and argued revocation "is too severe and should be reserved for intentional or dishonest conduct." She described personal hardships—loss of her husband, lease and reopening challenges during COVID—and said she amended reports, paid unreported amounts and hired a bookkeeper to prevent recurrence.
Assistant Attorney General Rochelle Little, representing staff, urged denial of the petition and adoption of the ALJ’s summary-judgment order, telling commissioners that staff found the licensee had "grossly underreported gambling receipts" across multiple quarters and that the total unreported receipts exceeded $700,000, producing an underpayment of license fees of about $11,800 on top of prior debts. Little cited the Commission’s authority under state law and WAC provisions in support of revocation.
After deliberation in closed session, the commission announced the petition was denied and said a written order would be issued in both this matter and a separate petition for reconsideration in the Hongmei Sheng matter.
