The City Commission approved Resolution No. 12-2026 to join the Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), a cooperative purchasing program administered by Region 8 Education Service Center. Purchasing Manager Beau Boyer explained that Local Government Code §252 requires competitive bidding for purchases of $100,000 or more and that participating in a cooperative where those processes are already completed can save staff time and provide more purchasing options at no cost to the city.
Boyer told the commission the agreement would streamline future procurements and broaden contracting options. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Commissioner Danny Potter, seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Cody Jones, and carried unanimously.
