Oxford adds $300,000 MDE grant accounting to stormwater budget; ordinance amended

The chair presented amendments to the stormwater shoreline protection ordinance to update fiscal-year references and to account for potential grant funding from the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE). "Motion to add 300,000 in grant miscellaneous storm water shoreline protection revenue to account for funding from the Maryland Department of Environment and to add 300,000 in expenses for the strand project," the chair read.
Commissioners moved and voted to accept the amendment during the public-hearing process. The chair and manager emphasized that including the revenue and expense lines in the ordinance is accounting for potential MDE funding and does not itself authorize a design or construction plan; several public commenters were reminded that the hearing was for budget accounting, not project design approval.
