NTDSE report flags 30% enrollment increase at Moley and growing K–3 support needs

Noelle Sullivan, District 68's representative to the Niles Township District for Special Education (NTDSE), briefed the Board on regional special-education discussions and local impacts at Moley Elementary.
Sullivan reported that Moley's student population has grown by about 30% over the past four years and said that while new construction completed this summer aimed to foster interaction, it has not fully addressed increasing needs in kindergarten through third grade. She described the Foundation Interventions Team’s work evaluating motivational and behavioral barriers and noted small-scale improvements such as painting concrete areas to encourage student interaction during recess.
The report was informational; Board members did not take action but were provided with the NTDSE's findings to inform future planning for special-education supports and facilities.
