The Oconto County Highway Safety Sub‑Committee convened at 8:00 A.M. on June 23, 2026, in the highway department's upper conference room and approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of the March 10, 2026 meeting. Brandon Hytinen called the meeting to order and the motions to approve the agenda (moved by Bill Elias and Todd Marohl) and the minutes (moved by Chad Frank and seconded by Bill Elias) were made, voted on and carried.
Committee members reviewed two vehicle-incident claims arising from Blizzard Elsa on March 15, 2026 — one at US 141/Frog Pond Road and one at US 41/CTH-J — and received updates on worker safety and equipment improvements. Staff reported that no citations or county-vehicle damage resulted from the March 15 incidents. The committee also reviewed observation cards and follow-up safety measures including a 30-day FirstNet trial to improve radio reception and additional lights at the hotmix plant. The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 29, 2026, at 8:00 A.M.
