Assessor cites 5% trend; highway superintendent warns of higher sand-and-salt needs

During department reports, Assessor David Galarneau told the board that the new trend for the 2025 tax roll is 5 percent and said that the equalization rate will likely decline by a similar amount. "The new Trend for 2025 tax roll is 5% which means equalization rate will likely drop nearly the same amount," the minutes record.
Highway Superintendent Lawrence Staring praised the road crew's efforts and warned the board that if the current weather pattern continues the town "may need to buy more sand and salt than anticipated for next season." Earlier in the meeting resident Joan Ploss publicly thanked the road crew "for handling the series of storms we have had lately so well despite being down a truck." Town Clerk Patricia Dineen also reported $200.00 in total receipts for the period, with $177.50 turned over to the supervisor and $22.50 remitted to the New York State Department of Health for marriage licenses.
