Economic Development Commission OKs Welcome sign, plans Sip N’ Stroll for Sept. 12

The Economic Development Commission voted to approve downtown 'Welcome to Beacon Falls' signage and reviewed bids and materials for additional signs on Main Street and in the industrial park. EDC members discussed materials, designs and coordination with state DOT requirements and asked staff to follow up on bids.
EDC chair Jack Betkoski noted that the train station work has started with a forecasted completion by fall and that the Sip N’ Stroll community event is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2026. The commission discussed logistics including coordination with the firehouse for use of parking, a business passport map and small giveaways for participating businesses.
