Town Historian Moira Marshall told the board the Historical Society's charter has been submitted to the State Education Department and "it will probably take 1-2 months to receive approval of the Charter." She reported finding an old document at the New York City Historical Center, including a letter from Samuel Bennett related to Stratford's early voting inclusion, and said she is acquiring a map of Stratford from 1858.
Marshall said she is donating newspapers for Amsterdam and Schenectady to the Montgomery historical archives because they "have no historical significance to the town of Stratford." She also attended a digital prints seminar and is cataloging early-school documentation.
The minutes note Stratford's founding in April of 1805 in the context of the historical materials discussed.
