District 69 outlines safety training, reunification planning and technology exploration

Superintendent Dr. Margaret Clauson described recent safety-related activities and planning. On Nov. 14 the Morton Grove Police Department trained staff on Standard Reunification during an Institute Day; the district is coordinating with Morton Grove and Skokie to establish additional reunification sites. The administration is exploring InformaCast, a mass-notification system used by neighboring districts, to enhance internal alerts and rapid communication with law enforcement during emergencies.
Dr. Clauson reported that the district partnered with Advocate Children's Hospital and the Village of Skokie to provide free flu vaccination clinics at all three schools in November; 155 children received immunizations. Building administrators reviewed staff guidance for supervising students during nearby law-enforcement activity, emphasizing safety and minimizing student anxiety.
