Selectmen amend and forward FY27 Police private-duty rates to Board of Finance

The Beacon Falls Board of Selectmen reviewed proposed FY27 Police Private Duty (PPD) rates July 22 as prepared by Finance Manager Natasha Nau and approved an amended schedule to send to the Board of Finance for its next meeting.
Following an initial motion to approve the proposed rates, Selectman Michael Krenesky moved an amendment specifying the FY27 rates: a flat rate of $86.00 for Nonprofit/Schools; an External weekday rate of $123.00 (plus the town's third-party billing provider charge of 10% for scheduling/vendor, totaling $135.30); and an External weekend rate of $164.00 (plus 10% vendor scheduling fee, totaling $180.40). Peter Betkoski seconded the amended motion and the board recorded all ayes.
Exhibit B in the meeting packet documents the FY26 baseline rates and the proposed FY27 rates and shows the Jobs4Blue (Visual Computer Solutions-VCS) vendor charges the additional 10% scheduling fee. The minutes note the FY27 proposal reflects updated retirement contribution percentages, fuel, and union contract review.
The board's action was limited to approval of the rates and referral to the Board of Finance; no budget appropriation or further motion was recorded at this meeting. The special meeting opened at 1:02 p.m. and adjourned at 1:09 p.m.
